Team Coaching
Challenge your team to be the very best they can be. Dean engages with teams (including Boards), challenging them to recognise and realise their potential.
Having refined his approach to coaching teams over several years – measuring the results and impact, Dean has a tried and tested approach that explores the motivation within, assesses the strengths and the current maturity level, and challenges the team to develop an attitude of ‘divine discontent’ - being obsessed by those ‘even better ifs’ – areas where a change would lead to even better performance and results.
The immediate focus is dedicated towards delivering a hugely impactful opening intervention … what Dean calls an ‘Awareness/Evaluation Day’. The day is designed to enable the team to have focused discussions, on the right things, and end with broad alignment on focal areas and priorities that will make them even better. From there, a roadmap can be cut to further help and support the focus/priorities, whatever they may be. Fluidity is key - the first intervention and the themes and development areas identified within the session, will clearly dictate the content, direction and flow of any future sessions.
Improvements noted by clients include:
- A heightened level of understanding of individuals within the team – motivations and values
- Higher personal levels of self-awareness and social awareness (impact on others)
- Quicker, bolder decision-making processes. Thinking faster
- Eradication of unhealthy dysfunctions
- Enhanced ownership and therefore contribution from all
- More efficient, focused and committed collaboration
- Willingness to share; and skill to position critical feedback – hold each other to account more
- Minimisation of noise and a focus on core objectives and achievement
- Enhanced controls and governance
Clearly the diagnostic stage is a critical first step – dictating the objectives and content of the interventions. No ‘library list’ of potential content and topics for the interventions follows for this very reason. The most important aspect is understanding specifics of where you are right now and what you are trying to achieve, and why. A studious and deliberate diagnostic enables the effective measurement of progress at the end of the interventions.
