A keen advocate of what sport enables in others, Dean has a passion and a commitment to make an impact across sport - supporting senior leaders to set vision and navigate challenges in pursuit of their organisational goals.

Dean has current affiliations across Gymnastics, Football, Horse Racing, Athletics, Cricket and Rugby – using his professional background and business acumen to help leaders on commercial, financial and leadership aspects within their businesses.

He also invested in a Masters equivalent in Sporting Leadership via VSI Executive Education during 2019 in order to get closer to some of the nuances that exist within the sporting industry, particularly the complexities surrounding regulation and governance. VSI Managing Director Tony Faulkner commented - ‘Dean’s background in people and organisational development provides knowledge and skills that so many professional sports organisations lack at executive level.’

Dean is actively looking to develop senior level (including Board) relationships within the sporting arena to help leaders navigate the acute demands of their role. He is able to provide support and challenge via executive or team coaching.

Dean’s in-depth understanding of the sporting landscape also makes him well-suited for governance roles, particularly as a Non-Executive Director. Building on his experience as an NED at a non-league football club and at Welsh Gymnastics, Dean currently serves as Chairperson at The Wheelchair Football Association (The WFA). In this capacity, he is responsible for governing the sport across England, maintaining and growing participation within communities, and enabling elite powerchair football players to thrive. Dean is also a member of The FA’s Disability Football Committee, accepting the responsibility of having delegated authority to help lead para football across England.
